I collect silly motivational pictures, PostSecrets (I've followed that blog almost since it was created and never miss a week), poems, and quotes. They're not all related to fitness, but I figured I'd post them in one place. I was doing this creative thing a while back where I was creating a ... powerpoint? I can't remember, that I was decorating, intending to turn into a slideshow of inspiration/happiness... I don't know exactly where I was going with that, but at any rate, here's some of the internet junk I've collected.
Wild Geese - Mary Oliver
You do not have to be good.
You do not have to walk on your knees
For a hundred miles through the desert, repenting.
You only have to let the soft animal of your body
love what it loves.
Tell me about your despair, yours, and I will tell you mine.
Meanwhile the world goes on.
Meanwhile the sun and the clear pebbles of the rain
are moving across the landscapes,
over the prairies and the deep trees,
the mountains and the rivers.
Meanwhile the wild geese, high in the clean blue air,
are heading home again.
Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,
the world offers itself to your imagination,
calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting --
over and over announcing your place
in the family of things.
"Love isn't something you feel, it's something you do. If the person you're with doesn't want it, do yourself a favor and save it for someone who does." - Six Feet Under
Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness. It is far better to take things as they come along with patience and equanimity. - Carl Jung
